Class reps presented a video to their classes by Travis Price, founder of Pink Shirt Day.  The video explains the reason why we wear pink on this day! The video link is below:

The reps also introduced Kindness Bingo- which encourages students to complete the squares which each contain a kind act. Students hand the completed bingos in at the office for a button  or bracelet.

In addition, the reps introduced the power of Random Acts of Kindness. They showed a  video that demonstrated how one  kind act can spread to others. They gave each student a mini paper pink shirt on which students can record when someone does a kind act to them. We will collect the mini pink shirts  on a bulletin board in the front foyer.  The video link is below:

We will be encouraging our students to wear pink at the Assembly February 26 at 8:30 am. At the assembly a student band will be playing the song Colors by the Black Pumas. Pink Shirt Day this year  is about celebrating diversity and the song supports this theme. In addition, our X block photography students will be displaying their kindness photos, the Poetry with Pizzazz will be sharing their kindness poems and lastly our LWMS Choir will sing 1, 2, 3 YOU CAN COUNT ON ME! It will be a wonderful celebration of this important day!
