LWMS Golf Team

Golf Team: All students from grade 6-8 are welcome! No experience or equipment is needed.

Practices will run as follows:

Starting Wednesday, April 14th: All team members will gather after school; 2:20-3:20 @ LWMS fields, Jesse Crowe, Royal York’s Director of Golf, will be conducting some basic lessons on grip, stance and swing. Wednesdays will be for all beginners and those just starting the sport. After 2-3 sessions at the school fields, students will then be introduced to playing at Royal York. They will play 3 holes in groups of 5-6, where there will be one adult in each group assisting with technique, rules and maintaining pace of play. These practices will begin promptly at 3pm; students can either walk or get a ride to the course. There is NO COST to these practices. Royal York has generously closed off regular tee times to allow LWMS students to play 3 holes. Practices on Wednesdays at the golf course generally finish by 4pm.

Monday practices are for experienced players only. These are students who have the capability and golf experience to play a full 9 holes. For this group there is a cost to play. It is recommended that parents contact Royal York golf course to purchase either a Junior Membership for their child or a punch pass. Students can also pay per round if that suits your individual needs. Jesse Crowe will also be giving this group lessons starting April 19th. Again students are responsible for their own rides (or walking) to the Golf Course.

Students are reminded to listen closely to the announcements for Golf Team meetings where specific details of the practices will be discussed.
